TORONTO - No Jon Cornish, no Nik Lewis, no Maurice Price, no tears from Dwight Anderson. Ryan McDonagh Jersey . Anderson will make his Toronto debut Saturday night when the Argonauts (1-1) host a short-handed Calgary squad at Rogers Centre. "Theyre going to line up and come after you so youve got to be prepared for whatever they throw at you." Canadian Matt Walter and American Jock Sanders will split running back duties against Toronto while Joe West comes off the injured list to line up at receiver. The offensive line also receives a boost with the return of tackle Dan Federkeil. "Over the years if you look at Calgary theyve had a lot of injuries and a lot of guys have stepped in and done well," Anderson said. "Cornish is down but (Walter and Sanders) are going to share the load. "Nik went down, Joe West stepped in. Theyre not leaving too much firepower out, theyre bringing in firepower so youve got to be on your toes. Thats what Ive told these guys here, theyre a vertical team. Bo (starter Bo Levi Mitchell) has a strong arm and can scramble." Anderson, 33, will start at halfback with just one week of practice under his belt. Toronto acquired the eight-year veteran Monday from the Saskatchewan Roughriders, just two days after defeating the defending Grey Cup champions 48-15 at Rogers Centre. To add insult to injury, Anderson endured the lopsided loss on his 33rd birthday. But Anderson said his transition in Toronto has been seamless because the Argos defence is very similar to the one he played in while with the Montreal Alouettes (2011-12). Toronto defensive co-ordinator Tim Burke held the same post with Montreal from 2008-10 and although hed left La Belle Province by the time Anderson arrived, the Alouettes still used many of Burkes defensive principles when Anderson was with them. "Its been busy, a lot of running around (since trade) but as far as the playbook goes it pretty much came back to me from the Montreal days," Anderson said. "I think the coaches were kind of surprised I picked it up so quickly but (when) youve been in this game long enough nothing is too difficult." Argos head coach Scott Milanovich is hoping the vocal Anderson, whos regarded as the CFLs top trash talker, can be a positive contributor to Torontos young, inexperienced defence. "Dwights an intelligent player," Milanovich said. "I expect Dwight to be what hes always been, and thats a playmaker, aggressive, emotional. "I think our defence could use a little of that. Dwights somebody you have to account for and always know where hes at because he can change the game. You make one mistake, he can take it the other way." Milanovich said the Argos cant afford take Calgary for granted. "If we think the fact Jon isnt playing can give us an opportunity to relax, thats going to burn us," Milanovich said. "Calgary has proven over the years their depth is as good as anybodys. "Theyve always been able to slip guys in, even at quarterback, and still have success and not miss a beat. They (Argos players) know how much I respect this team and this coaching staff and anybody who has been in the league long enough should have the same respect for them." Toronto is also hurting offensively as receivers Andre Durie (clavicle) and Jason Barnes (knee) wont play. Rookies Anthony Coombs — the Argos 14 first-round draft pick — and Darvin Adams will step in at slotback and wide receiver, respectively. Defensively, Matt Ware returns at cornerback from the injured list while safety Jermaine Gabriel gets a second straight start with incumbent Matt Black injured. Milanovich said, like Calgary, the Argos have always managed to get solid play from their backups and hes expecting the same Saturday. "Its become the expectation here with the players in the locker-room," Milanovich said. "It doesnt necessarily make you feel all that warm and fuzzy but Ive got to the point where I trust that the next guy is going to step up and do his job and I think a large part of that is how our team handles it. "They dont blink, they have faith in the guys next to them. I expect those guys to play well." Both starting quarterbacks are coming off solid performances. Torontos Ricky Ray threw for 407 yards and three touchdowns against Saskatchewan last weekend. Mitchell finished 16-of-25 passing for 313 yards and two TDs in a season-opening 29-8 win over Montreal on June 28. The Stamps had a bye last week. Mitchell is 4-0 as a starter but Anderson said the Calgary quarterback is a dual threat. "Bo is a scrambler," he said. "If things break down he can get out on the edge . . . stay with your guy and lock on because what hes looking for once he starts scrambling is that open receiver when they go to their scramble offence. "But if you lock on and let the front do their work then everything will be all right." Mitchell will make his third career start on the road and said he relishes playing away from McMahon Stadium. PITTSBURGH -- Backed up and fed up, Ben Roethlisberger provided a vivid reminder to his critics and the Detroit Lions of just how dangerous he and his suddenly surging team remain. HALIFAX -- The mayor of Halifax says the city should have its own mixed-use stadium and he likes the idea of having a CFL team as an anchor tenant, but Mike Savage says discussions with the league and potential investors are just starting. This is the year we have to figure out how serious we are about having a stadium." Savage said city council voted two years ago to contribute $20 million toward construction of a 20,000-seat stadium for the 2015 FIFA Womens World Cup of soccer, but there werent enough partners to make the proposal a reality. At the time, the provincial government said it wasnt interested in contributing, which left private investors reluctant to sign on. "There is an atmosphere in this city that says we can do some things that we couldnt do before," Savage said. "In terms of a stadium, the private sector will always say, Wheres government on this? " Cohon said establishing a CFL team in Halifax is part of the leagues long-term plan. But he declined to name any of the national or local business leaders that he and the mayor are talking to. "Its Day 1, guys," he said. "Its our first meeting." The commissioner repeatedly pointed to the new CFL franchise in Ottawa, the RedBlacks, as a potential model for Halifax. But he stressed that the talks that led to that teams rebirth took seven years to come to fruition. Cohon said the new, mixed-use stadium in Ottawa, the result of a public-private partnership, features a large retail space, condominiums, parkland and office space. The total cost for the project was $290 million, with $173 million coming from the city, the projects website says. "We have a proven model that is working right now in Ottawa," Cohon said. No one in the sports community was expecting a big announcement Monday, considering Cohon had said last week the Halifax meetings were just exploratory. The Bombers unveiled newcomer Drew Willy on Friday, a day after acquiring the young quarterback from the Saskatchewan Roughriders. And OShea immediately named Willy as his starter. "You see a guy who has been tutored by some good coaches," said OShea. "Hes ready for this." Winnipeg has two other quarterbacks on its roster -- Max Hall and Justin Goltz. And although Willy has made just four career CFL starts, OShea believes his time has come. "Its important to this franchise to have a quarterback and a guy that everybody can believe in.," OShea said. Willy, 27, played two seasons behind Darian Durant with the Roughriders. He said he prides himself on his passing accuracy and feels comfortable in all situations but also expects to learn by doing. "Being behind a guy like Darian Durant you learn a lot," he said. How good could Josh Gordon be matched with a competent quarterback? Cullen: Considering how well Gordon is playing with mediocre quarterbacks, its not unreasonable to think that he would be the most productive receiver in football if given a top-tier starting quarterback but, the truth is, Gordon is not that far off as it is. Gordon is already averaging a league-leading 124.9 receiving yards per game and his 19.5 yards per catch ranks second only to the Saints Kenny Stills (20.6), who is strictly a deep threat. Gordon catches a higher percentage of his targets (64 of 113 – 56.6%) than Detroits Calvin Johnson (72 for 132 – 54.5%), who holds the title as the leagues best wide receiver now so the only thing that would really work in his favour with a better quarterback might be more opportunities to score. Fisher: Gordon is the second-leading fantasy receiver despite missing the first two games to injury so theres not much room for improvement. The former second round supplemental pick gets thrown to a lot in Cleveland; with a better QB comes also a better offence so Gordon could conceivably see his targets decrease, but that better offence would also lend to more scoring opportunities. Ill stop short of putting Gordon on Megatrons level just yet, but teams are definitely kicking themselves for not pulling the trigger when the Browns made Gordon available earlier this season. The guy is a stud regardless of whos throwing him the ball Owusu: Without question, Josh Gordon has moved himself into high WR1 status. His fortune has come simply by being the only dependable option in an offense that has no choice but to throw the ball. Going into next season Gordon will be viewed as what Brandon Marshall, Julio Jones and A.J Green were heading into this year, another party in the battle for who will be the second best receiver in fantasy, behind Calvin Johnson, who is in a tier of his own. Considering that the Browns best RB option is either probably Chris Ogbonnaya or Willis McGahee, and the team has had three barely average quarterbacks passing Gordon the ball with all the defensive attention placed on him, he has played out of his mind. Like a true WR1, Gordon is matchup-proof a target machine. If the Browns can pair him up with a decent passer on a full-time basis Gordon should be the second WR drafted next year in fantasy based on the fact that there really just isnt a major weapon in that offense that could bite into his production like Marshall, Jones and Green have to deal with. Can Nick Foles be a future Top 5 fantasy QB? Cullen: Top five is too high for me. For one thing, hes not going to forever throw touchdown passes without ever throwing an interception, but if we presume that Foles becomes more comfortable with more reps as the Eagles starter, I can buy him as a consistent fantasy starter. Maybe, as the older guys – Manning, Brady, Brees (even Romo and Roethlisberger too) – either slow down or move on, maybe Foles could creep into the Top Five at that point, but I guess you could say that I like, instead of love, Foles. Fisher: Foles average numbers this season would have him ranked among the best fantasy QBs this season and hes being mentioned as finalist for Peyton Mannings MVP award this year. His numbers suggest hes a Top 5 at least, but can he be trusted to continue putting up these numbers on a consistent basis? I dont think Foles will be susceptible to the same “sophomore slump” as other second-year starters because theres nothing too revolutionary about his game that defences will eventually adjust to. It appears that Nick Foles has finally gained that vote of confidence from head coach Chip Kelly, and that goes a long way. Foles plays in an offence that is spoiled with riches: tons of weapons, a dangerous running back an aggressive coach, and they play in the NFC East! the perfect recipe for quarterbacking success. Since taking over as Philadelphia Eagles starter, Foles has launched the ball vertically downfield at a ridiculous rate, in fact hes tied for second with Drew Brees in 40 yard pass completions with 11, only behind Peyton Mannings 12. Its all crazy considering that Foles only has 6 starts this season and zero interceptions. Foles consistency and grasp of the Eagles offence makes it apparent that hes poised to join the tier of top 5 fantasy QBs consisting of Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Which rookie runner have you been more impressed by: Eddie Lacy or LeVeon Bell? Cullen: Im going with Lacy, though Aaron Rodgers recent absence shows just how much respect for the Packers passing game helped Lacy churn out yards earlier in the year. Generally, Ive been a little down on Bell because he averages only 3.3 yards per carry, but he augments his rushing totals with some decent receiving numbers (33 REC, 319 YDS). Some of that is obviously due to a subpar Pittsburgh offensive line and the circumstances surrounding each back makes it a closer call, but I still side with Lacy. Fisher: This is a tossup. Lacy and Bell have near identical average numbers in both scores and total yards. Lacy has averaged more yards on the ground but Bell makes up for it through the air. But while the two are near identical now I think Bell will finish the season with the better average numbers. Lacy will struggle along with the rest of the Packers offence while Aaron Rodgers recovers from his shoulder injury and Bell is the slightly better option in PPR leagues. Owusu: Its been fairly close, but between the two of them Lacy has showed that he is the guy youd want to have as your RB1 in all formats. Bell is solid and does contribute in the Steelers offense but his role on his team is not as prominent as Lacys. Its been clear all season that Mike McCarthy wants to ease the workload from Aaron Rodgers, (or whoever else is tossing the ball around for Green Bay) and Lacy has responded well to the call. Consistency and usage are what make an RB1 valuable, and for Lacy, in 7/11 games that he played, hes amassed at least 20+ rush attempts, while Bell only has 2/9 games where hes actually gone for over 20+ carries. Lacy also already has three 100-yard rushing games, to Bells zero. Both RBs have been steady with their production but Lacy has shown that the design of the Packers offense has called for more production out of him and he has delivered. David Silva Spain Jersey .J. The proposal also calls for the players to receive 55 per cent of gross revenues from TV rights, pay TV rights, radio, Internet and any other form of broadcast or telecast of CFL games, 45 per cent of revenues from sponsorship and licensing and 40 per cent of tickets to pre-season and regular-season games, including the sale of luxury boxes, licenses and any other revenue related to the public attending at games.
