Leann Jacobsen from Iowa Leann Jacobsen, President of the 225 member strong Technology alliance of Iowa(TAI) For the past seven years says things really took off about five years ago for the condition of Iowa. Silicon Prairie researches: What made you call big celebration Prometheus Awards Jacobsen: The seventh annual Prometheus Awards will be a showcase of over 40 companies and those that really are with innovation and entrepreneurship in Iowa. It is once a year industry party, And something we can all await attending. Prometheus was a Greek god of fire the unique innovation and so we took the name off of that jay ajayi jersey color rush. Our goal is to really combine it with a persons vision of the Prometheus Awards, Leverage that energy into in the mail. Our goal is to make a rich networking and educational event. Our thinking is we might be celebrating some of firms in the future at the Prometheus awards. SPN: Just what the TAI offer internet startups in Iowa? LJ: When you appear at our mission, We bond people. Many of our members get the best value through the connections that they receive here. Whether those links are developed at the networking level. Maybe quite a hundred people at our events, But they are 100 cool people and those discussions lead somewhere. Because we are focused on the wide range of technology, We bring a wide range of people to these events. There are three things we do extremely well: We connect people who have resources, Strategies and education to grow their businesses. We focus on building up the corporation climate. Our public policy arm is usually the voice of technology and we have spearheaded legislation to benefit the startup community. Employed pool issues. We are committed to creating an experienced pool of technologists that can continue to fuel continued momentum and innovation. SPN: What is TAI trying to do at everyone policy level for startups? LJ: Iowa has historically not done well thinking about access to capital. So through public policy we work to develop the tools that will improve access to capital among the startup community. Last year it was the Angel Investor Tax Credit regulations really helped attract capital at the very earliest stages of business formation. That exists today and the foundations are retroactive back to January 2011 Kiko Alonso Jersey. That future skilled workforce is mission critical to the media and to Iowa. SPN: What is your motivation to TechBrew? LJ: TechBrew started many years ago. Its purpose was to create that forum where people could have a casual chatting and where serendipity would occur. They are the invention of Christian Renaud. We didn have that's(Most important mass) So we established that forum. Monthly, Advertisers, Funders, Technologists, Business experts could just meet together to talk about what they're working on over a beer. At the moment, On a wed evening, Appearing as part of Iowa, You know that you've a TechBrew going on somewhere. LJ: Pitch Grow came from the need for entrepreneurs to have possibility to practice their pitch. It a repeat pitch session it not a shark tank! It useful and very friendly. You pitching to a panel of veteran people, Serial business men, Legal professionals, Traffic generation people, CEOs best in class experienced persons. It a 10 minute pitch with 20 minutes of feed back. It a spicket full of useful feedback. Entrepreneurs can go back and grow their companies while using feedback they received.
