The Northwoods League Expansion team is asking fans to send in their best selfie to be used mosaic style on the jersey. Selfie may have been Oxford Dictionarys word of the year in 2013, but it is jumping the shark in 2014. Love the #SaluteToSelfie submissions weve gotten so far. After losing the first two games of this set in Arlington the Tigers showed some signs of life on Tuesday, as Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez and Jhonny Peralta all homered and Austin Jackson went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI for the AL Central champs in a 5-2 win.HARRISON, N.J. -- The words were spoken in measured tones. Montreal Impact head coach Jesse Marsch clearly was frustrated, but he was not about to point fingers. Everybody was to blame for Montreals dismal second half that saw the New York Red Bulls score three goals in what became a 5-2 rout on Saturday. Despite scoring more goals in the first half than they had in three previous games combined, the Impact lost for the third time in four games. "Weve all got to stay focused on how to move ourselves along. Obviously, its a moment of big frustration because we felt like it was a good first half. But one half doesnt get you results," Marsch said. "The second half just got much too open and we allowed too much space for their talented players to make plays and they punished us." Thierry Henry scored his first Major League Soccer hat trick and assisted on another for New York, which erased two Montreal leads before halftime. Henry, the reigning MLS Player of the Week, scored what proved to be the deciding goal in the 58th minute. He has five goals in four games. "He killed us. Every time he touched the ball, he killed us," Marsch said. "He played well." The Impact never seemed to recover from a penalty kick awarded to the Red Bulls late in the first half. Montreal defender Matteo Ferrari brought down Red Bulls midfielder Dax McCarty in the penalty area and referee Michael Kennedy pointed to the spot.dddddddddddd Kenny Cooper slotted the penalty past Impact goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts in stoppage time to tie the score at 2-2. To that point, the first half had been a source of encouragement for the Impact. Montreal came into the game having scored one goal in its first three matches, but was goalless in two road losses. Impact forward Sanna Nyassi ended that futility, taking advantage of a giveaway by Red Bulls defender Markus Holgersson and beating goalkeeper Ryan Mears in the 18th minute for a 1-0 lead. Henry tied the score on a header in the 28th minute, but the Impact regained the lead 10 minutes later on a goal by Justin Mapp. Henrys go-ahead goal came after McCarty intercepted a Montreal clearing pass. He laid the ball off to Henry near the top of the penalty area and the French national then turned and cracked a low shot inside the left post. Henry later flicked a cross from defender Jan Gunnar Solli to Mehdi Balouchy for a tap-in near the left post. Henry finished the scoring by pouncing on a rebound in the 89th minute and shooting past a helpless Ricketts. "I thought we were very good in the first half, the better team on the field for sure. The second half was kind of the opposite," Mapp said. "The second half, no excuses. We cant blame the PK for the letdown. We just werent good enough in the second half."
